Are there any reasons you can't have massage?
You will complete a Client
History form in person at your initial visit or print
(complete and return) one from our web site. The form is
thoroughly reviewed with you.
Massage can be performed after viral or bacterial infections
are cleared up.
If necessary, you will be asked for permission to speak with your
doctor and request his/her permission to proceed with
massage for the following conditions:
-
blood disorders such as hemophilia (bleeder)
-
kidney disorders - vascular disease such as self/family
history of aneurysm, strokes, heart failure
-
gastrointestinal such as diverticulitis
surgery (USUALLY OK after one month)
Why do I need a therapist that is nationally
certified, and a member of the AMTA?
This is important because
the NCBTMB and the AMTA require at least 500 hours of
training, and proof of the knowledge and skills necessary
to meet client needs. In addition, therapists have to uphold
standards set by the
AMTA
and
NCTMB Code of Ethics.

What does multidisciplinary mean?
This is when we use a few
techniques (a.k.a. modalities or disciplines) to increase
the effectiveness your session. If you have a question
about the therapeutic benefits of massage, please take a
moment to
send us your questions.
Jeff may not be able to answer all questions personally, but
many questions will be added to the web site as an
educational tool.
